The Lorax

This may sound silly coming from an adult, but I really want to see The Lorax. It is made by the people that made Despicable Me (which I love) so I figured it should be pretty good. Then I see a commercial about The Lorax and Mazda. Seeings how my hubs works at a Mazda dealership, I have been pressing the issue to get free tickets to see it. Last night he gave me the bad news that only customers who buy new cars get free tickets. Lame sauce. And I'm not buying another new car. To my surprise this morning as I was packing boxes in Julia's room (and I knew I had a ton of Seuss books for her) I found Six By Seuss which includes, you guessed it, The Lorax. I am actually really excited to read it and I'm still hoping to see the movie. I am a little perturbed that the dealership won't give the salesman tickets, but Brenan did get a cool Lorax pin for his shirt.

Julia

This girl is growing up way too quick. In the past month she has learned to get herself into the sitting position (from her belly) on her own, she learned to clap, she got her 3rd tooth, and now she is crawling. She is also saying "mama" and since she has been on formula she is now sleeping through the night (hallelujah!). Also, she is going to be a big sister :)

 Every chance she gets to feed herself, she does. The days of giving her food are long gone, she is a big girl and wants to do it herself!

It's a little hard to tell, but she pulled herself up onto the piano to play. She sits on her knees now all the time!

 Nap time? Not so much. She was sitting up in her bed, chewing on the railing. We decided it was time to lower her crib since she was pulling herself up. She already took one fall off of a bed, we don't need her falling out of her crib!

Coming soon: She has a really cute, new, grimacy smile and if I could ever catch it on camera, I would!

Catching up

School has started, which means that posts will be few and far between. As a matter of fact, I'm procrastinating writing my prospectus for my senior seminar right now...

7 months old
On the 4th little Jules turned 7 months old! She isn't crawling yet, per se, but she is definitely mobile. The past couple of days she has been lifting her buns and rocking on all fours. She has gotten the hang of going from sitting up to her tummy without face planting, which is great. Some of her new favorites are her block set, apple juice, and her new found friend Walter (who recently and unfortunately became widowed. And yes, dogs can become widowed). Our favorite new achievement? She says bob/baba all the time now, which I find peculiar since we don't really use those words around her or give her a bottle. I guess they kind of sound like mom/dadda....

Christmas
We spent Christmas in Colorado this year, which was great. Brenan surprised me and got Friday off from work and so we didn't have to drive down separately :) There are pictures but at this moment they are not uploaded. They will come, no worries. It was great to see family and spend some time away from Utah.

New Year's 
We went to bed at 11:30, we just couldn't hack it that extra 30 minutes. Mostly because Julia decided that she doesn't want to sleep through the night anymore. I think she has another tooth on the brink of exposure and it's just a waiting game at this point. Anyway, happy new year.   

Batman

After many MANY attempts, we finally got a picture of Uncle Alex and Julia in their Batman shirts. As a side  note, notice the batman logo on Alex's door! And, he has like 10 Batman shirts. Fun fact.

Photo shoot

 I may be partial, but my baby is so cute I could just eat her up! Here is here first photo shoot at six months that was done by my ever-so-talented friend Amberly! She did a great job on the pictures and I'm excited to finally have good quality pics of my baby. She's so adorable!

 

6 months!

 This past month has been an exciting month for little Jules. We took a 14 hr (one way) trip to California for my dad's wedding, she got her first tooth, then she got her second tooth, she rolls all over the place (back to tummy and vice versa) and has learned that she loves a lot of her baby food. Her new "crack" is plum apple grape baby food. She cannot get enough of it! She is talking a lot more and starting to make "mama" sounds. She has recently (finally) started to sleep better and longer through the night.
