Perfect Storm

This never happens. Ever.

Last night I managed to sleep through the entire night without hearing any puppies cry, any dogs scratch at the door to be let out (usually around 2 am or 6 am), having to get up and pee in the middle of the night, needing to get up and eat in the middle of the night, having acid reflux/ a stomach ache all night, hearing Hans bark (the neighbors German Shephard who has no problem barking for hours), waking up because I'm too hot or too cold, or hearing the ice maker make ice at 4 am. One of these 7 things usually happens.

Last night was a perfect night of sleep.

We let the dogs out before bed, had Annie feed the pups before she went to bed, I went pee and ate before I went to bed, and as for the rest- pure luck.

You don't understand how magnificent this really is. Brenan slept awesome as well. Can every night please be like this?? Please.

Puppies!!

Oh my. Well, life has been busy busy. I quit my job at the hotel and am now working for Randy. We all now how job transitions can be time consuming. On top of that we have puppies now.
Here is Annie about 3 days before giving birth. She is one fat cat! There were 7 puppies, with 6 surviving.
Here she is the night of their birth. This was right after we got home from the vet and her c-section.
They were about 6" long and about 2" wide

Here they are at a week old. They have much bigger bellies now and are growing like crazy!

Puppy care is very time consuming, messy, and smelly. We clean them almost everyday, and wash their beds/towels twice a day on top of using disposable potty pads. They are super cute though! They are for sale in April after they are weaned. They are posted on ksl.com

My morning

Oh man, what a morning! Yesterday I regretfully ate too much. Not really too much, but I had 2 big meals instead of 6 small meals-- it makes a difference. Thus I did not sleep well. Also, I can hear the puppies crying in the middle of the night because they are hungry or because they accidentally crawled away from Annie. 5 am was way too early to hear that alarm go off. Especially after waking up at 4:30 to help the puppies.

Snoooze, 15 minutes.

I was rushed to get ready and when I went out to start my car, it was blocked in by 3 other cars. So, I had to wake up Brenan (who is unfortunately incoherant this early) to find the other keys. This led me on a wild-goose chase to find them.

Then there was Walter who was anxiously following me around all morning to be let out. Being the nice person that I am I let him follow me out the front when I went to warm up my car. Then he was gone. Yes, exactly what I needed, a runaway dog in the pitch black. Luckily I was wearing my snow boots and I ventured out after him. It took me what felt like 10 minutes, though I'm sure it was probably like 5, to find him. This cut into my breakfast time.

Nutrition shake on the go. Great. Didn't get to brush my teeth, take out Annie, or kiss Brenan good bye. Awesome.

Now it's slow at work. My only job is to answer phones and they are not ringing. Please can't I go home and take a nap??

21 weeks!

Alright, here we are, 21 weeks into the pregnancy. Or, as I like to think of it - over halfway there!! Two weeks ago we went in for her fetal survey and everything measured up great! She is in fact a she as was reconfirmed by the tech. And per usual Julia, she did  not sit still for her measurements. The poor tech had to try like 5 times to measure her head. I can't find the hard copies of the pictures, but it's not anything new since last time.

Here is the first picture of my baby "belly". I think it is still a stretch of the imagination to call it that, but ever so slowly my belly is starting to poke out. This is my 18 week picture- I need to catch up on my belly shots. Even though I haven't gotten much bigger, Julia's size is right on track. Two weeks ago she was 9 oz (the weight of 2 quarter-pounders w/cheese, no bun) and I believe this week she is around 11-12 oz and the size of a banana.

Elder Holland

Living in Utah has brought one unexpected perk: apostles showing up at your sacrament meetings. Outside of Utah I have only had 1 apostle (Elder Nelson) come personally to one of my sacrament meetings. Yesterday, completely un-announced, Elder Holland strolled into sacrament meeting. From what I hear he has a house in Midway and whenever he is out here he attends the 11 o'clock meeting. It was so spiritually awesome to see him. He got to speak for the last 10 minutes of our meeting, and in essence he addressed the youth and told them that this is the truth, this is the true church of Jesus Christ. He has been our age but we have not yet been his and it is important for us to know that the gospel is true. He is a witness of Christ.

On a side note, Brenan bore his testimony and after wards Elder Holland stopped Bren as he was walking down to his seat and shook his hand. Super cool.
